Speech in Motion

Where language development meets movement and fun!

What makes Speech Therapy different at Children in Motion?

Speech and Movement

Many speech therapy settings involve sitting at a table, practicing, and playing games. But, at Children in Motion we believe that movement and active play are essential to speech and language growth!

Our ASHA certified speech therapy team works in our therapy gyms, right alongside our occupational therapists. Our Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) use movement through swings, climbing, and other forms of play to increase your child’s engagement in speech therapy sessions, preventing boredom and increasing engagement in sessions.

In fact, Children in Motion’s approach to speech therapy and language development is backed by research. Movement has been shown, in multiple research studies, to improve speech production and language acquisition skills. This also leads to more functional gains as your child will be able to transfer skills over to real-life situations at home, school, or on the playground.

Family Centered Therapy

Just like in our Occupational Therapy sessions, families come first in our Speech in Motion programs too!

At Children in Motion, parents and caregivers are engaged in all aspects of the therapy process from evaluation through treatment to discharge.

The SLPs at Children in Motion are dedicated to engaging children and their caregivers in therapy sessions each week. This leads to better follow through at home. Our goal is to teach you how to help your child’s speech and language skills outside of therapy sessions so that your child can progress even faster toward their goals.

Collaboration and a Team Approach

Interested in more than just one service at Children in Motion?

Tired of therapy teams that never communicate with each other about your child’s progress and goals?
