Occupations are the things you do everyday. The things that are meaningful to you and your family. Perhaps it is eating meals with family, bath time at the end of a long day, or taking adventurous hikes on the weekends. Each of these occupations are what make life worth living! Occupations are the things we do that contribute to health, wellbeing, and happiness.
What is Occupational Therapy?
Occupational Therapy is provided by an Occupational Therapy Practitioner (Registered Occupational Therapist or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) with specialized training in helping people build the skills they need in order to participate in the activities and occupations that mean the most to them!
Occupational therapy is individualized. That means, there is no singular, prescriptive approach and every client has different goals, dreams, and needs.
Occupational therapy helps people to build skills to help them live happier lives. Therefore, goals are always set by the you, the client! What is important to you is what we are going to work on.
Pediatric Occupational Therapists are trained to work on a wide variety of skills. We help families, not just children, to live fuller, happier lives. To live the life you want for your family and for your child. But, how do we do this?
